Kent Hughes has just pulled off a «stroke of genius» and it's significant for the Habs
Pascal has had his experience in the NHL, having been the head coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets last season. However, he was thrown under the bus as the organization was in full disarray.
Looking at his track record, Pascal Vincent has worked with the Jets and the Blue Jackets in recent years, notably with Patrik Laine, whom he coached on both teams.
His acquisition by Kent Hughes is, according to him, excellent.
"When I see Patrik, I see the young man I met when he was 18, excited to play hockey. He's the most talented player I've coached! It's a stroke of genius!"
- Pascal Vincent, on Patrik Laine
It's clear that he has coached players like Johnny Gaudreau, Mark Scheifele, Nikolaj Ehlers, Blake Wheeler, and many others, but Patrik Laine is the most talented.
When he refers to the young Laine at 18, it means a lot to me. It's as if the Finnish player had the desire to play and prove something, as if he were on a mission, and I love that.
