Logan Mailloux is not happy with a decision made by Martin St-Louis and lets him know
Logan Mailloux made strides last year in Laval, and he seems ready for the next step, but it will be Martin St-Louis and Kent Hughes who decide.
Obviously, the young player has no power over this decision, aside from giving his all on the ice to force the management's hand.
He is currently in the group of American Hockey League players and is watching the parade pass by, which is not a good sign. This decision bothers him, and he didn't hesitate to mention it.
"Did being associated yesterday with the 'AHL' group bother you?"
- Anthony Martineau, TVA Sports
Logan Mailloux's response:
"Yes, definitely."
"I don't think it's such a big deal because I'm still here, but to be honest, I want to be paired with the best players every day."
This decision obviously bothers him, but he seems to have the right attitude. Breaking into the NHL is difficult and takes longer for a defenseman, and he absolutely needs to find a way to be more consistent.
It's with consistency that he will leave Martin St-Louis and Kent Hughes with no choice, because if we compare talent, he is undoubtedly in the top 6.
It must also be admitted that Justin Barron and Arber Xhekaj have to go through waivers to go to Laval, which does not play in his favor.
In short, Logan Mailloux will not get any favors. He must clearly demonstrate that he belongs in the NHL, or else he will have to start again with the Rocket.
