MAJOR: Kent Hughes and the Canadiens' accelerated plan for next season? Kirby Dach could already have a quality winger in Joshua Roy
It's a surprise, a very pleasant surprise that we're seeing on the ice right now. Joshua Roy is finding his place in the NHL and with the Canadiens.
The young man has a very solid offensive instinct, and he also defends well in his own zone. He will undoubtedly be part of the Canadiens' top 6, but we never thought it could happen so quickly.
According to Vincent Damphousse, he would be an ideal candidate to play with Kirby Dach next year on the 2nd line. The analyst mentions that he has a great hockey mind and that the Canadiens don't have players like him.
With Joshua's emergence, we can say that Kent Hughes' plan is greatly accelerated. This doesn't mean he shouldn't improve the team's offensive aspect, but he could have a very solid top 6 much more quickly by acquiring a key forward this summer.
