MAJOR: The Canadiens have found their new Shea Weber
He was called the "Man Mountain" for a good reason. Shea Weber was physically strong as an ox, and he demonstrated it every time he stepped on the ice.
His slap shot was thunderous, having set the record at 107.9 mph. The all-time record is held by Zdeno Chara at 108.8 mph.
As the Canadiens held their traditional in-house skills competition at the Bell Centre, Arber Xhekaj turned heads with a shot clocking in at 107.2 mph.
Xhekaj is another player who commands respect through his physical strength and playing style. He is starting to come into his own, and his devastating shot is beginning to bear fruit.
He still has a lot of development to do both offensively and defensively to reach Weber's level of play, but in terms of physical strength, he's not far off.
