Martin St-Louis completely changes his trios and duos
Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis seems to have had enough of being ridiculed and decided to stir his soup solidly this morning, as Marc-Olivier Cook of DansLesCoulisses pointed out.
First of all, Emil Heineman was promoted to the first line, along with Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield. Juraj Slafkovsky, for his part, is back on the second line, with Kirby Dach and Oliver Kapanen.
Alex Newhook, who is having a difficult start to the season, has been placed on the left of the third line, with Christian Dvorak and Joel Armia.
Finally, Josh Anderson should play this Thursday on the fourth line, with Jake Evans and Brendan Gallagher.
Check out the new trios right here:
Heineman - Suzuki - Caufield
Slaf - Dach - Kapanen
Newhook - Dvorak - Armia
Anderson - Evans - Gallagher
Extra: Pezzetta
Finally, on defense, everything indicates that Kaiden Guhle will return to the game and should be paired with Jayden Struble.
Arber Xhekaj, who had a very difficult game yesterday against the Seattle Kraken, should be left out, unless Guhle is unavailable.
The duos are available here:
Hutson - Savard
Matheson - Barron
Guhle - Struble
Xhekaj - Mailloux
The Montreal Canadiens are expected to hit the road this afternoon to travel to Washington to face the Capitals on Thursday. Martin St-Louis' squad will then face Sidney Crosby's Penguins on Saturday.
