Most of the veterans will not be in uniform, whereas the opposite will be true for Toronto.
It can be assumed that Martin St-Louis is sending his young players on the road for one of the last times, before focusing on his regular lines in the final preseason games.
It's common practice to send younger players on the road while keeping the veterans at home during training camp. When other teams do this in Montreal, it's often discussed, so the reasoning is just as valid here.
The only young defenseman not in the lineup is Logan Mailloux, who has played in both games so far.
The two goalies will be Connor Hughes and Jakub Dobes, and it will be quite the test for them as they face a very dynamic offensive team.
In short, the young players are being sent to the slaughterhouse, but there's nothing too serious about it. It will be a valuable experience to add to their resumes.
