It is now confirmed for Patrik Laine: his absence is justified
Patrik Laine just arrived in Montreal and has played only one game, yet we've already seen a glimpse of his enormous natural talent.
When a player can glide across the ice as he did during the game, carrying the puck and maneuvering past all the opposing players, it takes quite exceptional talent.
Fans were treated to a great show and even chanted his name. Martin St-Louis compared the scene to when he was young and chanted Guy Lafleur's name.
However, before this game, Patrik Laine missed a practice, raising concerns among the fans, and rightly so.
The Canadiens and their fans have not been spared injuries in recent years, and even a small absence during training camp is enough to shake everyone up.
The good news, however, is that Patrik Laine confirmed himself that it was due to his inactivity over the past few months and that there is nothing serious.

Additionally, it's important to remember that the Finn had shoulder surgery and only played 18 games last year. Arriving in a new organization and jumping on the ice at full speed under these circumstances, it's understandable that he might need a break from time to time.
He is now paired with Kirby Dach and Alex Newhook, in addition to getting power play reps with Nick Suzuki's line. He will have every opportunity to succeed.
