New impressive aspect of Ivan Demidov's game: he can drop the gloves
With the number of videos circulating online showcasing Ivan Demidov's skills, there's hardly any doubt about his potential in the NHL.
He is simply in a class of his ownfast, creative, with a great shot, exceptional vision, and a highly developed hockey IQ. Martin St-Louis will surely enjoy developing him.
Additionally, Demidov is tenacious and plays well on both sides of the ice. He even prefers the center position, which allows him to take on more responsibilities.
As if that wasn't enough, we have just learned that he will do whatever it takes to support his teammates, even dropping the gloves.
"I'm not looking to drop the gloves, but if your opponent challenges you, you have to fight." - Ivan Demidov
The young prospect defended one of his teammates last season, which led to a full-blown brawl.
"He admits he doesn't have much technique. He mostly improvised, but he figures that since he wasn't at the bottom of the pile, he must have won," said Ivan Demidov about the infamous brawl.
Of course, his role won't be to fight, and I sincerely hope he never has to, but this speaks volumes about his character and how he treats his teammates.
He will be loved in Montreal not only for the points he scores but also for everything he brings to the game on both ends of the ice.
