Patrik Laine in Montreal: The truth is starting to come out, and it's not pretty
Patrik Laine is freshly a member of the Canadiens, but the truth is starting to come out about his negative impact with the Blue Jackets.
Indeed, he wasn't the most liked player there, far from it. Several players reportedly requested his departure, which speaks volumes.
This isn't new, as Merzlikins and Werenski are the only ones still with the team.
It's hard to know if it was a behavioral issue or related to his mental health, but one thing is certain, it was a heavy burden for the team, and management eventually decided to act, perhaps too late.
"The organization got wind of this meeting and said, 'You know what? Let's get rid of the players who said that.' It's still troubling. The signal it sends is not to express your opinion and be honest," said Aaron Portzline.
Regardless, Patrik Laine is now a member of the Canadiens, and Martin St-Louis will certainly not let him become a cancer in the locker room.
We'll see in the coming months if Kent Hughes made the right decision in acquiring him.
