Surprise announcement from the CH: A young defenseman leaves the organization
We didn't see this one coming, as a promising young defenseman has just left the Canadiens' organization.
Miguel Tourigny, who was the quarterback for the Trois-Rivières Lions and was seen as a strong candidate to play for the Laval Rocket, is heading back to Europe.
"This morning, it was announced that Tourigny has signed with the Vlci Zilina in the Extraliga in Slovakia. It will be his second stint there."
It's a surprise and we didn't see it coming. The young man impressed last year at the Canadiens' camp and was in the process of climbing the ranks.
Unfortunately, the congestion at the defense position in the organization led to his departure, just like Nicolas Beaudin.
The team's 7th-round pick in 2022 will leave behind a strong impression in the organization and will be a significant addition to his new team.
Good luck with your new endeavors, Miguel!
