Surprise retirement in the Montreal Canadiens organization: it's over for captain Gabriel Bourque
It was during a radio appearance that we learned the surprising news of Gabriel Bourque's retirement, the captain of the Laval Rocket.
On the airwaves of CIEL FM Rivière-du-Loup, the forward made the announcement himself, right in the middle of the Laval Rocket's training camp. It is obviously a surprise.
So, after interesting totals of 103 points in 413 NHL games and 169 points in 364 AHL games, Gabriel Bourque hangs up his skates.
Actually, he's not hanging them up; he's swapping them for coaching skates, as he becomes an assistant coach for the Nordiques of Collège Lionel-Groulx.
Drafted in the 5th round in 2009 by the Nashville Predators, Gabriel Bourque played in the organizations of the Predators, Avalanche, and Jets, finishing with three seasons with the Rocket.
Happy retirement, Gabriel, and thank you for everything!
