The fate of Logan Mailloux in Calgary? He could very well be the new Alexander Romanov for the Canadiens
Logan Mailloux seems to be enjoying his time in the Canadiens organization, and even though it's not guaranteed that he'll make the team this year, he hopes to stay with the organization for his entire career.
And it's mutual. Fans love him for his tenacity, his play, and for the fact that he doesn't hesitate to speak in both languages. He is a budding leader within the organization.
Another defenseman that fans really liked was Alexander Romanov. What's special is that since he left, no one misses him.
I must admit that I liked the young man, his toughness, and his potential, but getting Kirby Dach in return was a win for the Canadiens, especially since there was already depth on defense.
According to Mathias Brunet and Simon Boisvert, the Canadiens could make a similar type of trade and use Logan Mailloux as trade bait.

Brunet adds that there were signs that Romanov was going to be traded, and the same could happen for Logan Mailloux. Does he claim that he will definitely be traded? No, but he believes it's far from impossible.
Personally, I was disappointed to see Alexander Romanov leave but happy to see Kirby Dach arrive. If Logan Mailloux were to leave, I would also be disappointed, but it remains to be seen what return Kent Hughes could get.
It's understood that the return would need to be excellent, but I'm not worried at all about that from Kent Hughes. He knows how to maximize his trades.
