The Oilers ultimately fell in Game 7 of the finals against the Panthers, but they truly gave it their all.
Vincent Desharnais didn't play in every game, but he was part of the journey and recently spoke with Anthony Marcotte about his experience in Edmonton and his new contract in Vancouver.
According to him, the Game 7 loss is the most painful thing the players in the locker room have ever experienced, and for good reason. They all work very hard to reach their ultimate dream of lifting the precious trophy, and they were just one goal short.
When asked about Connor McDavid and his playoff prowess, Vincent made a joking remark, but it remains very concerning for the future in Edmonton.
To win as a team, everyone needs to contribute. One player can't do it all, even if they score more than two points per game. For the Oilers, everyone hopes the captain has a great night.
This says a lot about the team's mentality but also about the pressure McDavid has to endure every day.
Desharnais went on to say how incredible McDavid is as both a player and a person, and he isn't surprised by all the success he has.
As for Desharnais, he is heading to Vancouver and is very excited to join players like Quinn Hughes and Elias Pettersson, in addition to working with the defensive coach Adam Foote.
