The name of Patrick Roy is circulating heavily on the web, and he is linked to the Ottawa Senators
It was a real shock to learn about the dismissal of DJ Smith earlier today.
Why? It's quite simple; Patrick Roy's name has been associated with the Senators since Michael Andlauer took ownership, and many believed it was happening now.
While there's nothing against Jacques Martin, it was still disappointing to see him take the interim position. On the other hand, bringing in Roy under the current circumstances wouldn't have been ideal. Jacques Martin was already in the organization.
On social media, Casseau was mentioned everywhere, so much so that it was the number one trend for the entire afternoon. Many hockey fans are eager to see him coaching an NHL team again.
