It's confirmed for Patrick Roy, who is officially back in the NHL
While we thought Patrick Roy would only be back as the head coach of the Ottawa Senators starting next week, he has just been hired by the New York Islanders.
We know Roy had offers from other teams in the West, but he was waiting for an opportunity to travel less.
"New York Islanders President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Lou Lamoriello announced today that Lane Lambert has been relieved of his coaching responsibilities. Patrick Roy has been named Head Coach of the New York Islanders." - New York Islanders
This is excellent news for the Islanders and for fans, who will have quite a leader at the helm.
