Official NHL announcement about Brendan Gallagher, and the fans love it
On this Saturday night in January, the Canadiens are hosting the New York Rangers at the Bell Centre. The second-best team in the league is making a stop in the metropolis, and the bookmakers don't give the home team much chance of winning this matchup.
However, it's the Habs who scored the first goal; in fact, it's 3-0 early in the second as of the time of writing. Brendan Gallagher opened the scoring with a perfectly placed shot, and the NHL wanted to highlight it.
"Brendan Gallagher rips it home to open the scoring for the Montreal Canadiens"
We love it! It's his first goal in 25 games, and it's quite a beauty. It's rare for the NHL to give credit to Canadiens players in this way, so it's even more impressive.
