Gary Bettman about to announce four new teams, including the Quebec Nordiques?
As we hear more and more about it, the NHL has a lot of interest in bringing a team to Salt Lake City. During the All-Star weekend, Gary Bettman expressed being impressed by their plan.
Cities like Houston and Atlanta would also like to have an NHL team, and of course, Quebec. Including Salt Lake City, that makes four potential clients for an expansion.
According to insider David Pagnotta, that's exactly what should happen by 2030. It may seem far away, but it's not that distant.
Thus, the NHL would have 18 teams per conference, and it could create three divisions of 6 teams per conference. Imagine having Boston, Montreal, Quebec, Toronto, Ottawa, and let's say Buffalo in the same division!
It's a dream, but if it's coming from a reputable insider like Pagnotta, it means he has reasons to believe that it could actually happen.
Until then, we'll believe it when we see it.
