To qualify for the Olympics, athletes put in immense effort and dedication throughout their lives, particularly in the four years leading up to the Games.

Being expelled by one's own country, which has invested in their development, is an extremely rare occurrence, but it has just happened to a 20-year-old swimmer.

Indeed, Luana Alonso, a Paraguayan swimmer, has been expelled from the Olympic Village due to alleged misconduct.

"Paraguayan swimmer Luana Alonso has been expelled from the Olympic Village by her delegation leader, who accuses her of creating an inappropriate atmosphere' within the group."

It's clear that she must have committed a serious infraction, but the exact reason for her expulsion is not yet known.

"The General Director of the Paraguayan delegation, Larissa Schaerer, did not specify the nature of the behaviors she reproached the athlete for, stating only that her presence had a negative effect on her team."

Alonso holds several Paraguayan swimming records and has been competing internationally since her teenage years. However, she did not advance to the semifinals in the 100m butterfly.

Social media is abuzz with speculation about the reasons for her expulsion, and her Instagram account has suddenly gained a lot of attention.
