At the beginning of the week, the funerals for Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, two young athletes tragically killed by a drunk driver, took place.

The driver responsible is Sean Higgins, and many people should remember his story before getting behind the wheel after drinking.

The culprit appeared in court recently, and shocking details have been revealed, including his blood alcohol level. It was at 0.087, which is above the legal limit.

What is even more shocking is that the two vehicles Sean Higgins overtook just before hitting the two brothers were traveling at 55 mph in a 50 mph zone, which is about 90 km/h.

Higgins overtook them very quickly, with the last one on the right, while the two cyclists were present. It's believed he struck them at over 90 km/h.

When we say they had no chance, it's an understatement. They were hit from behind, with no way to anticipate the impact, at over 90 km/h.

Of course, the case is still pending, and Higgins remains behind bars until his next hearing on October 15.

Given what we know now, with drunk driving and dangerous driving involved, I don't believe we will see Sean Higgins released for a long time.
