Tragedy: a 22-year-old player loses his life in an accident
People often say that life is hanging by a thread, and this is the case for young defender Craig Spence, who tragically lost his life.
Indeed, Spence had a car accident on Highway 401 in Ontario. He did not survive the accident.
It is always sad to hear that someone so young, with his whole life ahead of him, died so tragically. We wouldn't wish this on anyone.
The Blades' captain was about to start the playoffs with his team. Without a doubt, this tragedy will shake them up quite a bit.
"The Blades are saddened by the death of our captain Craig Spence. An incredible hockey player, a teammate, a brother, and an even more incredible person.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Craig's family and everyone who knew and loved him," the Blades hockey club said via Twitter.
Many other tributes were published, including one from his former team, the Mississauga Steelheads.
"The Steelheads are saddened to learn about the passing of former player Craig Spence. We would like to extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, teammates and all those affected"
Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of Craig Spence. All our condolences.
