The Avalanche and the Canadiens on the verge of making a trade for a goaltender: Jake Allen back in the rumors
The Avalanche just surprised everyone this Saturday afternoon by placing their backup goaltender, Ivan Prosvetov, on waivers.
What's particularly surprising about this announcement is that there is currently no one in the backup goaltender position, so the rumor mill has started turning again.
Is the Avalanche completing a trade to bring in a veteran goalie to support Georgiev? That's what many believe, and Jake Allen's name is frequently mentioned.
We know that Hughes can't ask for the moon for number 34 and will probably have to retain some salary.
If such a trade really comes through, don't expect an extraordinary return, but it would open up space for Samuel Montembeault finally!
