The Canadiens' defenseman Gustav Lindstrom is changing teams
It was on Tuesday that the Canadiens announced they had placed defenseman Gustav Lindstrom on waivers with the intention of sending him to the Laval Rocket.
We know that Kent Hughes dislikes losing players for nothing, but with the imminent return of Rafaël Harvey-Pinard and the defense being healthy throughout the organization, it was the right decision to make.
The other 31 NHL teams had until 2:00 PM today (Wednesday) to claim him, and it's ultimately the Anaheim Ducks who have selected him.
Lindstrom provided solid services to the Canadiens, but he fell victim to the team's defensive depth. On the Ducks' side, with the recent trade of Jamie Drysdale, they make a good move with Lindstrom.
