The verdict is now known and confirmed for Cayden Primeau
While the logical goalie rotation for the Canadiens would have Cayden Primeau in the net for Saturday night's game against the New York Rangers, Martin St-Louis has just confirmed the news.
It is ultimately Samuel Montembeault who will have the challenging task of stopping the powerful Rangers' offense.
"Head coach Martin St-Louis confirmed during his press conference that Samuel Montembeault will get the start for Montreal on Saturday.
The Canadiens host the New York Rangers at the Bell Centre at 7:00 p.m. ET."
- Montreal Canadiens
So, it's unfortunate news for Cayden, but Samuel deserves to play, confirming his status as the number one, even though no one doubts it.
Patience is still required for Primeau, who has to wait his turn once again. It must be a challenging situation for him. As reiterated, Kent Hughes really needs to address the situation sooner rather than later.
