"Tampa Bay needs to free up money to sign, among others, Steven Stamkos. Tony thinks the Canadiens could be interested in Tanner Jeannot because he fits exactly what the team needs. Agree or not?" - BPM Sports
It's true that the Canadiens' bottom two lines lack grit. Adding Jeannot would be quite significant, but Hughes must not overpay like Brisebois did.
Remember the 2023 trade deadline when the Lightning gave up five draft picks and a prospect for Jeannot. We're talking about a 1st round, 2nd round, 3rd round, and two 4th round picks.
That's an astronomical price for a player who scored 14 points in 55 games. Even though his role isn't to fill the scoresheet, the price wasn't worth it.
If Julien Brisebois agrees to trade Jeannot for one or two draft picks, without including a first-round pick, I wouldn't be against it.
