Jordan Harris trade: The rumor is confirmed by a second source
Earlier this week, The Hockey News journalist Jacob Stoller mentioned that Kent Hughes is indeed shopping Jordan Harris.
The young defenseman would be the first casualty, but not the last. There is a lot of work to be done in this area because the Canadiens have many defensemen.
One source is good, but two is better. Harris is a native of the Boston area, and Boston Hockey Now journalist Jimmy Murphy confirms the rumor.
"With regards to the NHL trade rumors surrounding #GoHabsGo and defenseman Jordan Harris:
I'm told that given Harris' fall down the depth chart with so many good young d-men in the Canadiens' stable, Harris is definitely on the trade market.
Knowing how much Kent Hughes likes Harris as a person, he will likely try to find the best spot for Harris to get more playing time and develop, as long as the return makes sense for the Canadiens."
It's true that Kent Hughes is a general manager who cares about the well-being of his players, even if they are no longer part of the plans. Harris should, barring a surprise, leave before March 8, and the Lightning would be a preferred destination with Mikhail Sergachev's injury.
