Kent Hughes has officially submitted a trade offer: this has been confirmed by Pierre LeBrun
We know that Kent Hughes has been very active in the market since the start of the summer, but the only trade he has completed so far is the acquisition of Patrik Laine.
That was quite a transaction and an unexpected one, especially with rumors previously focused on Martin Necas and Trevor Zegras.
Nonetheless, it's clear that Hughes has been involved in numerous discussions, and Pierre LeBrun has just confirmed that he is also highly interested in Yaroslav Askarov.
This was known for some time, but now new information has surfaced.
"I don't know 100% what the Canadiens offered, but I have a feeling it's probably a young defenseman."
- Pierre LeBrun
Apparently, the Predators wanted Jacob Fowler, which Kent Hughes flatly refused. However, the Canadiens' initial offer seemed to include a young defenseman, likely paired with a first-round pick.
Now, the question is whether it was Justin Barron, Jayden Struble, or possibly even Jordan Harris, as the negotiations for Yaroslav Askarov began before the Patrik Laine trade.
