Shockwave and Martin St-Louis fired by Kent Hughes? The Canadiens' coach finds himself on a very unflattering list, and it's ridiculous
The last thing anyone in the Canadiens' circle expects is for Martin St-Louis to be fired. The head coach is doing a good job, and it's perfectly understandable that the results aren't coming, especially considering he doesn't have much support from his GM.
This is perfectly normal as the Canadiens are in a rebuilding phase. In fact, Kent Hughes confirmed a few days ago that there's no need to worry about St-Louis and that a contract extension will be on the table in due time, as his contract expires at the end of the next season.
According to the popular sports betting site SportsBetting, Martin St-Louis is among the next NHL head coaches to be fired. He's currently ranked 9th in terms of tenure, despite his limited experience.
This list simply doesn't make any sense. The reality for the Canadiens and St-Louis is not the same as in Ottawa or Toronto, where results are expected.
In short, don't worry, Martin won't be the 6th NHL coach to be fired as stated on the list, unless all head coaches remain with their respective teams for a very long time.
