Two unexpected departures from the Canadiens organization
There are significant changes happening within the Montreal Canadiens' organizational structure.
Firstly, Mathieu Brodeur, the assistant coach responsible for defensemen with the Trois-Rivières Lions and a former player for the team, is leaving for personal reasons.
Brodeur played for the Lions during the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons and became the defensemen coach in 2023-24. His departure is not a dismissal.
«The Trois-Rivières Lions have announced the resignation of assistant coach Mathieu Brodeur for personal reasons.
The Lions would like to thank Mathieu for his past years with the organization. The search for a new assistant coach is underway.»

Additionally, as mentioned yesterday, Adam Douglas is also no longer with the organization.
Douglas played a key role in recent drafts by analyzing all the physical data of prospects at the Combine, helping the Canadiens acquire many promising talents.
We wish both Brodeur and Douglas the best of luck in their future endeavors.
