The Canadiens prospect Lane Hutson engages in a battle with a giant and wins everything, even the gold
With a score of 6-2 late in the 3rd period in the final between Sweden and the United States, emotions ran high. Frustration was palpable in the Swedish camp as they wanted to win in front of their fans.
They will ultimately have to settle for silver, which is far from shameful. The Americans were perceived as the team to beat, and they delivered.
In a scrum late in the game, Lane Hutson engaged in a fight with a giant standing at 6'4", and at first glance, it didn't seem to be going well for the small defenseman.
However, he came back strong and sent his opponent to the mat. It's truly impressive strength shown by a small defenseman standing at 5'9" and 149 lbs.
Remember, we will see Hutson with the Canadiens at the end of his NCAA season. He seems more than ready, unafraid of physical play, capable of handling significant minutes, and producing at an impressive pace.
