The potential return of the Quebec Nordiques has been a hot topic for years. Unfortunately, it won't be happening next year, but there is new information.

The Arizona Coyotes will finally be relocated, but not to Quebec. Instead, they will move to Salt Lake City starting next season.

Several insiders strongly believe that there will be four new expansions by 2030. The first would be Houston and Atlanta, then the other two would include Quebec.

"Renaud Lavoie, a TVA Sports journalist and, by extension, an employee of Quebecor, mentioned that in such a scenario, Quebec would be virtually assured of having its team." - DLC

Quebecor will obviously be involved in the return of the Nordiques if it ever happens.

"After this move to Salt Lake City, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman can begin to focus on the next expansion. We know that several American cities are in the running, with only one Canadian city, which is Quebec. [...]

Beyond the schedule and playoffs, it is clear that by adding four more teams (Quebec would be virtually assured of having a team), NHL hockey would be very different." - Renaud Lavoie, via Le Journal de Montréal

According to Frank Seravalli, the last expansions will be around 2030. Will we see the Nordiques within the next six years?
