Terrifying scene as three QMJHL players are victims of a car accident
As the season begins in three weeks in the QMJHL, three players from the Cap-Breton Eagle have been involved in a car accident.
According to the information gathered, one of them is still in the hospital, while the other two have been released.
Forwards Angelo Fullerton and Lucas Romeo were only slightly injured despite the frightening nature of the accident. Defenseman Brayden Schmitt remains hospitalized, but his life is not in danger.
This is good news under the circumstances.
"For now, we are waiting for further information from the doctors and are monitoring the situation day by day," said Eagles GM Sylvain Couturier, as reported by TVA Sports.
As mentioned, their season starts in just under three weeks. This is very poor timing for injuries, even though there is no good time for an accident.
The organization has issued a statement to announce the news. We sincerely hope that it is more fear than harm and that the three young players will not be traumatized by the accident.
